Hannah's 3rd birthday

This one was very hard to do.  Much to Dina's dismay she was still in the hospital for Hannah's 3rd birthday.  The hope was that she would have been home for that but it wasn't in the cards.  So we brought the party to her!  We had a small party in the RACU (respiratory unit) on Bigelow 9.  It wasn't what we wanted but Hannah didn't bat an eyelash.  Her and Julie ran from Dina's room to the little conference playing as if they were at one of our houses!  To say the nurses liked the company of two little girls running around and playing would be an understatement.

Poor Hannah...because we were on a respiratory unit we couldn't even light the candles!

Hey, where's my cake?

Present time...and it went on forever...spoiled!

And these are why this one was so hard.  These are the last pictures I have of Dina and Hannah together.  Feels so unfair when I write that.  Obviously not what Dina would have wanted as her last pictures but we will cherish them forever regardless.  And she'd probably be pissed at me for posting them!  Sorry if this brings the water works out of those reading this!

Dina made sure to be wearing a purple shirt since it is her baby's favorite color

  1. Wow...yes....I can barely type this through my teary eyes. It is so unfair that you have to say things like "the last picture of them together". But wow....look at how much joy you can see in their eyes as they look at eachother. After all Dina went through and how bummed she must have been to have to do her party there....there is a magical glow beaming from her face! And the fact that Hannah is so easygoing and unafftected by it all is such a testament to what wonderful parents she has. You both have done such a great job raising Hannah....and she will always carry the best parts of Dina with her throughout her life! Thank you for sharing these pictures and the stories!
